Bartle Hall

Kansas City, MO

Bartle Hall, also know as the Kansas City Convention Center, spans across I-70 and is supported by four pylons and steel cables. The pylons are capped with sculptural elements called “Sky Stations.”  These distinctive artworks were designed by R.M. Fischer and added in 1994.

While RTE Technologies, Inc. performed multiple tasks on the original Bartle Hall Building, we were also retained by the artist, R. M. Fischer to help design and fabricate these iconic sculptures and their mountings on the cable stayed pylons.  RTE Technologies, Inc. offered solutions to ensure the sculptures would stay protected and structurally secure through Kansas City’s many weather conditions and respond well to other environmental concerns. We had to think outside the box of normal structural details to help the artist’s vision be realized.
