Brink Meyer Road runs south from US-45 about 1/2 mile East of I-435. A 600 foot long, 50 foot tall retaining wall along this road failed less than 9 months after it was built. RTE Technologies, Inc. served as an expert witness for the City of Parkville, MO during its successful lawsuit against the original designers and contractor. Subsequently, RTE Technologies, Inc. was hired to design a replacement retaining wall utilizing the undamaged portions of the wall. We recovered materials from the original wall to reuse as a cost saving measure. We also used completely new methods and materials in the tall, damaged section of the original wall to ensure the repaired wall would be stable. Adapting a new, repaired design to a partial existing retaining wall required significant effort in flexible design while ensuring a safe, enduring reconstructed wall.
