Town Pavilion

Kansas City, MO

The Town Pavilion stands 38 stories tall in the middle of downtown Kansas City. This $120 million multi-use high rise was completed in 1986. The construction included a structural steel frame with outrigger trusses for lateral load deflection control, and stub girder design to minimize floor to floor heights and reduce total tonnage of the building frame.

Mark A. Campbell, P.E., Principal at RTE Technologies, Inc. served as structural Project Manager and Engineer of Record for the original construction of the building while employed at a different engineering firm. Subsequently, RTE Technologies, Inc. has been retained to make multiple modifications to the building for a variety of clients, including communicating stairs between levels, infill of granite panels at the peak of the building, tenant finishes requiring structural engineering during new tenant development, and elevator heavy equipment change out from level 38.
